The recession in California's Inland Empire is so bad that a Payless Shoe Source store has tried to disguise the fact that it was ever there. Harder to disguise are the newly homeless people that still occupy the shadows. As the nation moves on, it's as if we've all echoed "Nothing to see here, move along…"
