The Colstrip Power Plant, which is generating the plumes of pollution on the horizon, has an unhealthy influence on politics in Montana. The plant burns coal, and because it is has been unprofitable since the fracking boom, it will be completely closed down in the next few years. But Green New Dealers are getting the blame, both from Republicans and Democrats who are dependent on campaign contributions from the fossil fuel industry.
