Parker is a resort community on the Colorado River, popular with snowbirds who flock to the desert in their recreational vehicles. But some residents, local seasonal workers, live in rentals that reminiscent of the man camps of oilfield country. There certainly is no evidence of long-term occupancy. Community for workers is hard to build in this seasonal economy.
