Everywhere you look in the Southwest during the Great Recession, boondockers are camped on the side of the road with everything they own. There are no spaces left in campgrounds, public or private, even if you have the money. Many don't, having been unemployed and foreclosed on or unable to pay their rent. Nomadland (the book much more than the movie) told much of the story, but many people were harder to find unless you looked for them.

What we witness may not be "newsworthy" but that doesn't mean we shouldn't attract attention.

Take note, and take notes.
